1. Who We Are

Money Minds is an educational financial literacy application designed for school-age children and their teachers. We are committed to protecting the privacy of all users, especially children.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our service:

• Students: Name, username, age, class code, lesson progress, assignment submissions, coins and badges earned.

• Teachers: Full name, email address, school name, class information and student roster.

• We do NOT collect: home addresses, phone numbers, social media profiles, location data, or photos.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the educational service

• To allow teachers to track student progress

• To save student progress across devices

• To process subscription payments (teachers only)

4. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored securely using Google Firebase, a trusted cloud platform. Passwords are hashed using SHA-256 encryption and never stored in plain text. We use industry-standard security practices to protect all user data.

5. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell, trade, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

• We never sell student data under any circumstances

• Student data is never used for advertising or marketing

• Data is never shared with other schools or institutions

• Teacher data is used only to manage your account and class

• We use Firebase (Google) for data storage and Stripe for payment processing only. These providers have their own privacy policies.

6. Children's Privacy

We take children's privacy seriously. See our COPPA Notice tab for full details on how we handle data for users under 13.

7. Data Deletion

Teachers can request deletion of their account and all associated student data by contacting us. Student accounts can be removed by their teacher at any time.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using Money Minds, you agree to these Terms of Service. Teachers agree on behalf of themselves and confirm they have appropriate authority to enrol students.

2. Subscription & Payment

• Free plan: up to 5 students, Level 1 only, no payment required.

• Starter plan: $4 USD per student per month, billed monthly.

• School plan: $3 USD per student per month, unlimited students.

• Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

• Subscriptions renew automatically. Cancel anytime with no penalty.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Share login credentials with unauthorised users

• Attempt to reverse-engineer or copy the application

• Use the service for any purpose other than education

• Submit harmful, offensive or inappropriate assignment content

4. Teacher Responsibilities

Teachers are responsible for managing their class, ensuring students use the platform appropriately, and obtaining any required parental consent for students under 13 in accordance with applicable laws including COPPA.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, lessons, curriculum, and design within Money Minds is the intellectual property of Money Minds. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute any part of the application without written permission.

6. Disclaimer

Money Minds provides financial education content for informational purposes only. It does not constitute financial advice. We make no guarantees about financial outcomes from applying the lessons learned.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms. Users may delete their account at any time by contacting support.

Our Commitment to Children's Privacy

Money Minds is designed for school use and may be used by children under the age of 13. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and take additional steps to protect young users.

School-Based Exception

Under COPPA, schools can consent on behalf of parents for educational tools used in the classroom. When a teacher creates an account and adds students, the school/teacher acts as the responsible party and consents to the collection of student data solely for educational purposes.

What We Collect from Children Under 13

• First name and chosen username (no surname required)

• Age (to provide age-appropriate content)

• Lesson progress, coins and badges

• Assignment responses (visible only to their teacher)

What We Do NOT Collect from Children

• Email addresses from students under 13

• Location or geolocation data

• Photos or videos

• Social media information

• Any information not required for the educational service

Parental Rights

Parents and guardians have the right to:

• Review their child's personal information

• Request deletion of their child's data

• Refuse further collection of their child's data

For Teachers

By adding students under 13 to your class, you confirm that your school has obtained appropriate parental consent or that your use falls within the school consent exception under COPPA. We recommend informing parents that their child will be using Money Minds as part of their curriculum.
